Landor Associates has branded Dobrolet,
a new low-cost carrier from airliner Aeroflot
targeting ‘price-sensitive Russians’.
Research by Landor showed that Russian
people are ‘sensitive about safety and service
quality, particularly in low-cost segments’.
The consultancy says, ‘To encourage
Russians to embrace the low-cost revolution’
the Dobrolet brand has been positioned
as ‘a trustworthy airline’ which offers
‘a friendly service at an affordable price’.

I was in two minds about this
rebrand at first. Until I looked
at how the airline previously
was branded and it can only be
an improvement on that.
However my main thoughts were
its a white plane in a sea of white
plane's how is that going to hold up.
That said on looking at what little is
available online currently in regards
to applications such as ticketing there
seems to be decent design possibilities,
but have they been achieved?.
The dots lend themselves to a simple
clean way of visually showing
information. But I was disappointed
when viewing their website. It is lacking
completely in any crafting, looks clunky
and could be so much better.
In terms of the aircraft design itself
I wonder if it would not have been
better to reverse the graphics making
a blue fuselage. It would still be soft
and clean looking but would stand out.
The Interiors of the aircraft that are
online confuse me. In one image
I see a nice clean modern fresh cabin
space and another I see an already
dated looking seat finish. I just hope
the one they went with was the
