The logo replaces the one designed by Start Judge
Gill in 2011 which incorporated the Union flag.
Wolff Olins says it is ‘working with Virgin Media on
a new brand identity of which a new logo is one early
visual representation of how this is beginning to
manifest itself. You’ll see more of that rolling out
The redesigned logo has already started to be used
on print ads and sees the Union flag and all 3D
rendering and flourishes dropped in favour of
a more pared-back look.

I recently helped out over at Wolff
Olins with creating brand guidelines, artworking the logo plus assets as
a kit of parts, for delivery to the client
at Virgin Media for launch.
We spent quite a considerable period hashing out the details and making
sure the guideline documents were
clean clear concise.
My main concern was making sure
that all the colours the creative team
came up with worked well when
printed and therefore I had a few
rounds of colour adjustments
and print tests and lengthy conversations to arrive at the
desired final pallette.
I think the outcome was a success
and a major improvement over the original design.
Was great fun as always working
with the team and great work.
